Coin Cleaner ... Cleaning Coins For Fun And Profit.

HOW TO CLEAN COLLECTIBLE COINS SAFELY AND EFFECTIVELY IN A ROCK TUMBLER:

Here is a tried and true method for cleaning your old collectible coins that have become discolored over the years by tarnish, carbon spots, or PVC.

Numismatics, or coin collecting, is an age old and time honored persuit that can have a life time's worth of rewards. Your coins can be hundreds (even thousands) of years old, or brand new, but to get the most out of them for collecting and selling at a profit you need to help them look their best. Here is the best way to go about it:

THE ROCK TUMBLER COIN CLEANING METHOD:

First, you need to aquire a rock tumbler. If you don't have one in your garage, check out the yard sales and flea markets in your area, then try ebay. You can get some great deals. Failing that, you can always pick one up at a local toy or hobby shop.

SET UP:

You will need 1 cup of sand,
10 or so pieces of marble sized gravel,
2 tablespoons of liquid dish soap,(not dishwashing machine soap),
1 tablespoon of liquid silver cleaner,(a 1/2 tsp. of bleach can be used if you have none.)
and about 2 cups of water.

Mix all the ingredients together into the tumbler and then throw in up to 10 coins at a time. Run through a regular tumble cycle, (Usually about 2-3 hours). When that is complete, slowly drain the liquid out, then empty the remaining contents into a bowl. Pick out all of your newly shiny coins and allow to air dry, or pat them dry with a towel.

This method is perfect for clad, copper, silver, or gold coins

You are now ready to enjoy your collection to the fullest, or sell them to a dealer or on ebay! ENJOY!!!
